Bubble

People passed her, nobody even noticed her there. Nobody cared. Everyone's busy with their own shit;the dark cloud of trouble hanging atop of their heads. And she just sat there; watching, lost in her deep thoughts..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She suddenly bursts out laughing, and in that instance, everyone turned;almost simultaneously, and stared right at her. As though they just realized that she was there, while she was there all along. After hoarse whispers to their family or friends while casting a glare or two at her direction, the strangers went back to their daily life, oblivious to everything but themselves. She just shrugged, and continued watching people... She was used to it, used to being ignored. Actually, she preferred it. She preferred to stay in her own world, live in her bubble and maybe once in a while peep out to see the world, but no matter what, she wants the bubble to be there with her. Somehow, she feels safe in her bubble, as in, no one could hurt her, and she would live a life of tranquility. People called her weird, a freak but she doesn't care. She's happy and that is what's really important. She knows...She knows, without that bubble to separate her from the outside world, without that protection she can hide behind, she would have given up hope many many years ago. The bubble is the only thing that is keeping her sane. Helping her cope through life, one baby step at a time, not like the RACE that's happening outside of her bubble. She doesn't want to ever leave her bubble. Maybe she is becoming too attached, but whatever. She is never leaving her bubble because she knows, that's where she belongs. The place that shields her from all the pain, sadness and the hurt of the world. The bubble.
She loves her bubble.
