Different
It's a long time since she felt happiness. The pain inside her was creeping back, slowly into her vulnerable mind; making her feel worse than before. She confused, lost and in total blackness.
She knows she needs help, but who cares enough to help her? Who is willing to listen to her real story? Who is brave enough to look past the fake smiles and actually see the pain in her eyes? Who is curious enough to ask her as to why does she always use sarcasm and humor as a defense mechanism? NOBODY.
People notice, people wonder but no one cares enough to take time to know the real person beneath the mask she wears.
Nobody knows how different she is
The mask she portrays is not afraid
Not full of pain, or even ashamed
She smiles and all of those ignorant fools believe
Of course nothing could be wrong with her
Her eyes are dry, she does not shed tears
For that gift was taken away from her, dear
She laughs and talks and plays along
Keep on existing as if nothings wrong
Nobody knows how different she really is
The inside of her is hollow and empty
Do not fret my dear, for she do not want your pity
She's hurt and broken beyond repair
Her heart is shattering and full of despair
She's bloodied and beaten and not really living
She's just going through the motions and continue existing
She's scared and lost, clueless as can be
Nobody knows how different she is
And that will never change.
